From Dr. Whitmire: Dear Singers – I have 45 borrowed copies of the Brahms Requiem for tomorrow night. If you can find a copy to bring, that would be great. Also, you can go to the Choral Public Domain Library [www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Brahms] and download pdf files of the complete Requiem or selected movements. So that you don’t use all your paper, we’ll work on only on movements 1-3 tomorrow. Hopefully the bookstore will have our music soon.
From Fred: For those who asked:
Senior Registration is in the Student Services Center which is Bisdorf 194. That’s in the East most cluster of rooms on the lowest floor of the new building addition. You can avoid walking the entire length of Bisdorf by cutting through the “A” parking lot to the East door.
Registration time is:
– 8:30 AM until 7:30 PM, Monday – Thursday.
– 8:30 AM until 5 PM on Friday.
The lines were forever long and there were no spare chairs so I left. Things should be better a day or two from now.

From Dr. Whitmire (8/22/09) Dear Singers – I am afraid that the bookstore will not have our Brahms Requiem by this Tuesday’s rehearsal. It appears that the publisher of the W. Bullock edition prints only on demand, making the process very slow. The Rutter and Willcocks are in the bookstore (they are not side by side, so look carefully). I will have Brahms worksheets that we will use on tuesday. See you then. – DrW

(07/30/09) You may already have the Rutter Requiem and Willcocks Five Christmas Carols in your files.
– We sang the Rutter in Spring of ’06. It has a bright red cover. [Correction: On my last note, first line. We are singing the Rutter Gloria, not his requiem. All the other data remains the same. It is red and we sang it in Spring of ’06.]
– We sang the Willcocks in Fall of ’02. It has a bright green and white cover.
(I heard that these were already in the book store but the new Brahms version was not.

The Mozart Requiem singalong last Tuesday night was one of the most rewarding “performances” I can remember.
I hope you will be at the next singalong on Tuesday, August 11, 7 pm,
Handel’s Messiah – The whole thing, Yes!
Our own Grace Gori is one of the four soloists.
Be early. It takes time to check in, pay your $10, rent music if you must and find a seat in your section.
Here is what happened with the Mozart (.pdf)
See you soon.
