Dear Singers – You were fabulous beyond my wildest expecations last night. Such a wonderful tone, and so responsive to the tempos. The orchestra was very on as well. The Priests and Soldiers were in fine form, and our Francisco brought the house down. Of course the big hitch was in Aida at the end of the trumpet section. Measure 134 ends with three beats of rest, and I presumed that measure 135 would start on my downbeat, but the brass had other ideas, But is was a small flaw in an otherwise delightful program. I hope you had a fraction of the fun that I did. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow night.
